Wetour Robotics, Vistance, Leveraged ETFs Lead Stock Declines

Top Stock Decliners: Wetour Robotics, Vistance Networks, and Leveraged ETFs Fall Sharply

Wetour Robotics Limited (NASDAQ: WETO) dropped 50.26% to $5.72, with approximately 1.53 million shares traded. The physical AI and wearable robotics company recently established an at-the-market program allowing it to sell up to $75 million in ordinary shares, raising concerns about substantial potential dilution.

The decline should not be attributed primarily to a new 1-for-100 share consolidation announcement. Wetour Robotics announced that consolidation on July 29, and its shares began trading on a post-consolidation basis on August 3. Shareholders subsequently reaffirmed the consolidation and approved a significant increase in authorized share capital, adding to concerns about possible future share issuance.

Vistance Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ: VISN) declined 47.89% to $6.06, with approximately 29.25 million shares traded. However, the decline was largely a mechanical adjustment related to the company’s $5-per-share special cash distribution, which was paid on August 27 to eligible shareholders. August 28 was the ex-distribution date, meaning the stock began trading without the value of that payment.

Therefore, the VISN decline should not be presented simply as a deterioration in investor sentiment. Shareholders entitled to the distribution received $5 per share, partially offsetting the lower quoted stock price.

The Leverage Shares 2x Long PYPL Daily ETF (NASDAQ: PYPG) fell 25.74% to $7.30. The fund seeks to deliver twice the daily performance of PayPal Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ: PYPL), before fees and expenses. PayPal shares dropped after reports indicated that Stripe and Advent International had ended their pursuit of a potential acquisition, removing expectations of a takeover premium.

Two leveraged funds tracking IREN Limited (NASDAQ: IREN) also posted steep declines. The Defiance Daily Target 2X Long IREN ETF (NYSE Arca: IRE) fell 25.38% to $7.32, while the Leverage Shares 2x Long IREN Daily ETF (NASDAQ: IREG) dropped 25.31% to $5.96.

Shares of IREN Limited (NASDAQ: IREN) declined following its fiscal 2026 results as investors focused on weaker-than-expected adjusted EBITDA and the costs and execution risks associated with its expansion into AI cloud infrastructure. IREN was originally focused on Bitcoin mining but is increasingly positioning itself as an AI cloud and data center operator.

In summary, the day’s largest declines resulted from several different factors: dilution concerns surrounding Wetour Robotics Limited (NASDAQ: WETO), an ex-distribution adjustment for Vistance Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ: VISN), the collapse of a reported PayPal takeover pursuit, and IREN’s post-earnings sell-off. The sharp ETF movements also demonstrate how daily leveraged funds can magnify losses in their underlying stocks.
