  • The expanded partnership includes an upfront payment of $1.00 billion from Sanofi to Regeneron, with potential milestone payments up to $7.00 billion, aiming to secure future revenue streams beyond Dupixent’s exclusivity.

Jefferies raises its price target for Regeneron (NASDAQ: REGN) to $930.00 from $870.00. At the time of publication, Regeneron stock trades at $741.16, about 25.5% below the new target. Regeneron develops innovative medicines for serious diseases and works with Sanofi (NASDAQ: SNY) on Dupixent, a leading treatment for eczema and other inflammatory conditions.

The biotechnology companies are expanding that partnership to develop treatments aimed at the IL-4 and IL-13 pathways, which play a crucial role in inflammation. This strategic deal adds four next-generation, long-acting antibodies to their drug development pipeline, as highlighted by Reuters.

Sanofi will pay Regeneron $1.00 billion upfront. Regeneron could receive up to $7.00 billion more in milestone payments, which depend on the new drugs reaching agreed development or commercial goals. The companies will share development and sales costs, along with global profits from these new pharmaceutical treatments.

These new drugs could help replace revenue when Dupixent eventually loses exclusivity, allowing competing versions to enter the market. They could also help the companies respond to longer-acting rival treatments in the competitive pharmaceutical landscape. Key drugs from the expanded partnership could launch from 2030 onward, securing future growth for both Regeneron and Sanofi.
