American Resources Corp. (NASDAQ: AREC) Expands Rare Earth Processing Capacity
Facility Expansion: ReElement Technologies, a minority-held affiliate of American Resources Corp. (NASDAQ: AREC), is expanding Phase 1 of its Marion, Indiana refining campus to four production lines with more than 16,000 metric tons of annual separated, high-purity oxide capacity. Initial production is expected to begin in the third quarter of 2026, with full Phase 1 commissioning planned through the end of the year.
Strategic Growth: The expansion is intended to help address a major gap in the U.S. and allied critical-mineral supply chain. ReElement says its refining platform can process both recycled and primary feedstocks and is designed to be modular, scalable, and more environmentally responsible than traditional refining methods.
American Resources Corp. is positioned as a broader critical-minerals and raw-materials company, with activities tied to metallurgical carbon, iron ore, rare earths, recycled metals, and related upstream and downstream operations. Through its affiliation with ReElement Technologies, the company is seeking to expand domestic refining capacity for rare earth and critical battery materials.
The Marion site has previously been described by the company as a 42-acre campus with approximately 425,000 square feet under roof and additional room for expansion. The current Phase 1 buildout remains on schedule and under budget, according to the company’s latest update.
