GMAB (NASDAQ: GMAB) is a biotechnology company that develops cancer treatments. Its investigational drug Rina-S targets platinum-resistant ovarian cancer, a disease that progresses despite platinum-based chemotherapy. In Phase 1/2 trial results, as highlighted by GlobeNewswire, 45.9% of 109 treated patients had a confirmed response, including five whose cancer was no longer detectable.
The median response lasted 12.1 months. Median progression-free survival was 9.5 months, meaning half of the patients went at least that long without their disease worsening. Rina-S also showed activity across folate receptor alpha expression levels, including in patients with low or no expression of this protein.
Safety remains an important part of the assessment. Serious adverse events occurred in about one-third of participants, and 5.5% stopped treatment because of adverse events. Chief Medical Officer Tahamtan Ahmadi says the results support further study in Phase 3. Rina-S remains investigational, and its safety and effectiveness are not yet established.
Guggenheim analyst Michael Schmidt raised GMAB’s price target to $54.00. At the time of the announcement, the shares traded at $34.75, putting the target about 55.4% above the share price. The target reflects an analyst’s estimate, not a guaranteed future price.
GMAB reported quarterly revenue of $1.16 billion, cost of revenue of $84 million, gross profit of $1.07 billion, and operating expenses of $664 million. Its trailing-twelve-month operating profit margin was 32.3%, meaning it kept about 32 cents in operating profit per dollar of revenue. Quarterly inventory was $18 million, net property, plant, and equipment was $254 million, asset turnover was 0.33, and inventory turnover was 16.0.
