Grayscale Bitcoin Mini Trust (BTC) Rallies with Bitcoin

Grayscale Bitcoin Mini Trust (NYSE Arca: BTC) Rallies as Bitcoin Rebounds

  • Grayscale Bitcoin Mini Trust (NYSE Arca: BTC) gained nearly 6% as Bitcoin rebounded above $80,000.
  • The trust provides investors with exposure to Bitcoin without requiring them to purchase or store the cryptocurrency directly.
  • The rally followed the Senate’s failure to advance the CLARITY Act, shifting attention toward regulatory action by the SEC and CFTC.

Grayscale Bitcoin Mini Trust (NYSE Arca: BTC) is a spot Bitcoin exchange-traded product managed by Grayscale Investments. It began trading on NYSE Arca in July 2024 and is designed to reflect the value of its Bitcoin holdings, less expenses. The trust has approximately $5.1 billion in assets under management

On September 18, 2026, BTC traded at approximately $35.79, gaining about 5.8% during the session. The move closely followed Bitcoin, which climbed above $80,000 and gained more than 5%.

The rally came after the U.S. Senate failed to advance the CLARITY Act on September 15. The legislation received a 50–49 majority but fell short of the 60 votes required to proceed. Bitcoin initially declined by more than 5%, while Coinbase and Circle shares fell as much as 10%.

With the legislation stalled, investors are focusing on whether the SEC and CFTC can establish clearer digital-asset rules under their existing authority. Although agency action may support the industry, regulations introduced without legislation could remain vulnerable to future political or legal challenges.

Despite this uncertainty, Bitcoin and related investment products rebounded strongly. Because BTC directly tracks the value of its Bitcoin holdings, its gain primarily reflected the cryptocurrency’s recovery rather than an analyst upgrade or company-specific development.
