Market Downturn: Healthcare, Transport, and Digital Asset Stocks Lead Losses

  • Healthcare pressure: Alignment Healthcare (NASDAQ: ALHC) fell sharply amid Medicare Advantage and profitability concerns.
  • Transport costs: J.B. Hunt (NASDAQ: JBHT) dropped after management warned that fuel, driver, and other costs could pressure Q3 earnings.
  • Crypto weakness: Digital asset stocks declined after the failed Clarity Act vote and broader risk-off sentiment.

The stock market saw notable weakness across healthcare, transportation, and digital asset names. Alignment Healthcare (NASDAQ: ALHC) fell about 16.15% to $8.71, hitting a new 52-week low. The selloff was tied to concerns around Medicare Advantage star ratings, reimbursement, enrollment, and profitability.

In transportation, J.B. Hunt (NASDAQ: JBHT) dropped about 13.29% to $236.73. The decline followed comments from CFO Brad Delco, who warned that higher fuel costs, driver-related expenses, and medical claims could push third-quarter earnings lower than expected.

Digital asset names were also under pressure. BitGo Holdings (NYSE: BTGO) fell about 11.72% to $6.41, even after announcing support for Circle’s Arc mainnet. The broader weakness followed the Senate’s failure to advance the Clarity Act and softer sentiment toward crypto-related stocks.

Leveraged Circle-linked funds also declined as Circle Internet Group (NYSE: CRCL) traded lower. Leverage Shares 2x Long CRCL Daily ETF (LSE: CRCG) and ProShares Ultra CRCL (NYSE Arca: CRCA) were hit by the same pressure.
