  • MillerKnoll exceeded profit expectations, reporting a strong earnings per share (EPS) of $0.53, significantly above analyst estimates.
  • Despite the profit beat, the company’s revenue of $923.40 million fell short of targets, primarily due to softer activity in its North America Contract segment.
  • From a financial health perspective, MillerKnoll maintains a stable liquidity position with a current ratio of 1.65 and a debt-to-equity ratio of 1.28.

MillerKnoll (NASDAQ: MLKN), a prominent furniture maker, reported its first-quarter fiscal 2027 earnings on September 22, 2026. The company presented a mixed financial picture, successfully beating profit expectations while simultaneously falling short on its revenue targets for the quarter. This reflects varied demand across its global operations.

The company announced an earnings per share (EPS) of $0.53, significantly surpassing the analyst consensus estimate of $0.35. As highlighted by Zacks Investment Research, this represents an earnings surprise of over 51%. EPS is a key metric showing the company’s profit allocated to each outstanding share of its stock.

This strong earnings performance included an approximate $0.11 per-share benefit from tariff refunds. Even excluding this one-time item, the adjusted EPS of $0.42 surpassed the company’s own guidance. This was achieved through disciplined cost management, which helped improve the reported gross margin by 320 basis points from the previous year.

On the other hand, MillerKnoll’s revenue of $923.40 million did not meet the estimated $940.93 million. This figure also marks a 3.40% decrease from the same quarter last year. The revenue miss was primarily due to softer-than-expected activity in its North America Contract segment, which offset strong international and retail orders.

From a financial health perspective, the company has a debt-to-equity ratio of 1.28, which measures its debt against shareholder equity. Its current ratio of 1.65 indicates it holds more current assets than short-term liabilities, suggesting a stable liquidity position to meet its immediate obligations.
