Analyst firm Roth Capital reiterates its “Buy” rating for Okta (NASDAQ: OKTA), a leading identity and access management company. The firm also raised its price target on the stock to $235.00 from $155.00. At the time of the report, Okta’s stock price was $209.84, as highlighted by TheFly.

This optimistic view follows Okta’s recent Investor Summit. At the event, executives announced a new strategy to secure and govern artificial intelligence (AI) agents. The company aims to position its identity platform as a central solution for this emerging technology, which presents a new growth area beyond its traditional market.

Co-Founder and CEO Todd McKinnon believes the market for AI agent identity could eventually surpass the traditional identity market. He stated that market share for agent identities will be established over the next three years. This creates a significant long-term opportunity despite expected competition and a gradual adoption timeline.

To address AI security risks, Okta unveiled its “Blueprint Alliance” with partners like AWS, CrowdStrike, and Salesforce. This alliance aims to create a framework for managing AI agents, including a registry for unique identities. The company also highlighted its generally available Okta for AI Agents platform to provide visibility and control.

Following these announcements, Okta’s stock reached a new 52-week high of $212.50. The company currently has a market capitalization of approximately $34.86 billion. Market capitalization is the total value of all a company’s shares of stock. This reflects a significant increase from its 52-week low of $62.66.
